A little history about Titus-Will

 

In 1938 Leon Titus, Sr. was awarded the Ford franchise in Tacoma, WA and started  Titus-Will Ford located at 616 Broadway in the downtown area. Shortly afterward, a family connection brought James W. Will and Leon together as business partners.

In 1968, the dealership was moved to its present location just off the new interstate freeway (I-5) in Tacoma, closer to the new regional shopping mall (Tacoma Mall). The new store was designed by Jim Will and local architect Alan Liddle and built by Macdonald Building Company. The name of the new dealership became Titus-Will Ford Sales Inc.. The facility was state-of-the-art and continues to act as the flagship store of the Titus-Will auto group.

In 1970, Paul Titus became general manager of Titus-Will Ford. He later became President and CEO of the company.

 In 1981, Paul and Jim acquired the Toyota franchise in Tacoma from Temple Motors and moved it from its downtown location by the Tacoma Dome to its present location on Sprague Ave.

In 1994, Paul Titus was succeeded by his son-in-law, Graham Tash, as president of Titus-Will Ford/Toyota.

As of 2009, The Titus-Will group of companies includes 7 automotive franchises (2 Ford stores, Toyota, 2 Chevrolet stores, Cadillac, Hyundai, GMC and Buick) with 5 different locations in Western Washington and over 500 employees.

Titus-Will continues to serve its customers and community in the Puget Sound area, with many years to come.

This elegant, Elizabethan style building at 618-24 Broadway was built in 1919 for the Pacific Car Company from a design by Roland Borhek, who also drew the plans for the Rialto Theater. The Titus Motor Company, dealers for Ford vehicles, took over the building in December of 1938. As Titus Motor Company, and later as Titus - Will Ford, they occupied this building until the mid-1960s when they moved from downtown Tacoma to 3606 South Sprague.
